Emirates has taken a big step forward by allowing customers to pay with digital currencies. This move comes through a new setup with the Singapore based exchange Crypto.com. It shows how travel companies are starting to meet the needs of people who prefer using crypto for everyday tasks like booking trips.

What the New Payment Option Means

Starting now, people with a Crypto.com account can pick Crypto.com Pay when they book on the Emirates site or app. The choice works only for those living in the United Arab Emirates and for tickets paid in the local dirham currency. The airline has not shared plans yet for opening this to flyers from other countries.

This makes Emirates the first major carrier to bring in for ticket sales in any form. The two companies began working together in July 2025 with payment tools as a main goal.

How the Payment Process Works

Using the Emirates mobile app is simple. The user chooses the crypto option and gets sent to the Crypto.com app to finish the payment from their wallet. After that they return to Emirates to get their booking details and ticket.

On a computer the steps are just as easy. At checkout the person selects Crypto.com Pay, scans a QR code on the screen, and confirms the payment in their app. The ticket then shows up right away once approved.
