Georgia Police Smash in Joint US Poland Raid
Two foreign nationals were taken into custody in Georgia during a major international crackdown on cryptocurrency laundering. The arrests took place on June 10 in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and involved police from Georgia, Poland and the United States working together.
Officers searched dozens of homes, offices and cars linked to the suspects. They seized 173 vehicles, high-value luxury items and money from bank accounts. The operation targeted an organized group that used the name
How the Group Worked
Investigators say the group started in 2022 and offered services to other criminals. They helped turn stolen or illegal cryptocurrency into clean money while hiding the trail from police. Between 2022 and 2025 the group moved several hundred million US dollars worth of cryptocurrency through these methods.
The same group ran an online forum called Dark2Web. The site was used to advertise illegal services and connect criminals from many countries. This made it easier for hackers and fraudsters to find help with hiding their profits.
International Team Effort
Georgian prosecutors thanked Eurojust, Europol, the United States Secret Service, Poland’s Central Cybercrime Bureau and the Prosecutor’s Office in Łódź for their help. The joint work shows how countries are now sharing information to stop cross-border crypto crime.
Authorities have not released the names or nationalities of the two people arrested. The investigation is still open and more arrests could follow.
What This Means for Crypto Users
Cases like this remind everyone that law enforcement is getting better at tracking cryptocurrency. Even when criminals try to hide money through mixers or fake accounts, police can follow the digital trail when they work together across borders.
People who use crypto for normal reasons should keep using strong security and only deal with trusted platforms. Those involved in illegal activity now face a higher risk of being caught because of operations like the one in Georgia.
The fight against crypto crime is growing stronger every year. This latest arrest shows that no group is safe when several countries decide to act as one team.
