Polymarket Prepares Major Platform Overhaul with Advanced Exchange Features and New Stablecoin
Polymarket is getting ready for a big change to its trading system. The company plans to update its entire exchange setup in the next two to three weeks. This will be the largest update since the platform started in 2020.
What the Upgrade Includes
The changes cover smart contracts, the way orders are matched, and how collateral works. At the center is a new version of the Conditional Token Framework Exchange called V2. This new system makes order matching faster and uses less gas on the blockchain. It also simplifies the data needed for each order by removing extra fields.
The updated Central Limit Order Book mixes off-chain order books with onchain execution. This setup helps traders get better results with fewer steps. Developers who build trading tools will need to update their software and sign orders again with the new structure.
Support for Smart Wallets
One helpful addition is support for EIP-1271. This Ethereum standard lets smart contract wallets sign orders directly. It makes tools like Safe multi-signature wallets much easier to use on the platform.
New Native Stablecoin
Polymarket will also launch its own stablecoin called
Why This Matters Now
The upgrade comes at a time when prediction markets face more competition. Other companies like Kalshi and big names such as Coinbase are entering the space. Polymarket wants to stay ahead with better tools and a cleaner system. During the switch, old order books will clear and there will be a short maintenance period. The exact time will be shared at least one week before it happens.
Overall these updates aim to make trading smoother, cheaper, and more secure for everyone involved in prediction markets.
