XRPL Stablecoin Supply Nears $1 Billion as South Korea Tests Blockchain Bonds
XRPL Stablecoin Supply Nears <$1 Billion> as South Korea Tests Blockchain Bonds
The XRP Ledger is getting closer to a big goal. Its total stablecoin supply has reached about $980 million. This is just short of the $1 billion mark. The growth comes mostly from Ripple USD, also called RLUSD.
Fast Growth in Stablecoins on XRPL
In just one week, the stablecoin supply on the XRP Ledger grew by more than 5 percent. That is an increase of around $47 million. RLUSD makes up nearly 90 percent of all stablecoins on the network. Another token called USDV is in second place and has also grown quickly.
RLUSD started mainly on Ethereum. But now more than half of its supply has moved to the XRP Ledger. This shift happened because transactions on XRPL are faster and cost less. Since its launch in 2025, trading volume for RLUSD pairs on XRPL has passed $2.5 billion.
South Korea Moves into Blockchain Finance
At the same time, South Korea has started a pilot program for its bond market. The market is worth around $900 billion. The program will test how to use blockchain to handle bonds. This shows that big financial institutions are interested in blockchain technology for real-world use.
Both the rise in XRPL stablecoins and South Korea’s pilot point to the same trend. Blockchain is moving from crypto-only projects into traditional finance. Analysts are watching how these changes affect liquidity and adoption.
Current XRP Market Numbers
XRP is trading at $1.09 right now. Its market cap is close to $68.4 billion. This puts XRP in sixth place among all cryptocurrencies. Daily trading volume is $611 million, and there are about 62.46 billion XRP in circulation.
Even with strong stablecoin growth, DeFi activity on XRPL is still small. Total value locked sits at only $32.8 million. This shows there is room for more DeFi projects to build on the network.
What This Means for the Future
The move toward $1 billion in stablecoins is a clear sign of trust in the XRP Ledger. More stablecoin supply usually brings more trading and payments activity. South Korea’s bond pilot could open the door for other countries to test blockchain in government finance.
Together these events show that blockchain is becoming part of everyday finance. Stablecoins like RLUSD make it easy to move money quickly and cheaply. As more institutions join, the XRP Ledger could see even bigger growth in the months ahead.
